Welcome Daylight Savings time! With this warm weather it will be great to have more sun in the evenings! But now our mornings are dark again, for a while anyway. Congratulations to the Crete HS Boys basketball team on a strong showing at the state tournament. It was great to see a strong Rotary Club presence in the crowd! Since our last meeting back on February 21st, our members helped with the Crete Schools Elementary book Fair at the end of the month on two separate nights. It appeared that the fair was quite successful, and I know they appreciate our help! Following are a few photos of our members at work. Unfortunately, we didn't get a photo of the crew that filled the last time slot on Thursday evening. Those members were Shay Smith, Laura Hughes and Amy Hausman. Thanks everyone that helped! Looking forward to our meeting this Wednesday we have a number of club activities to discuss and plan for. We have the Easter Egg Hunt event to help with on March 30th at CAMC and we also need to identify a "best date" for our spring highway cleanup project. Members can also give some time thinking of ideas for a District Grant Project for our community for the new Rotary year which starts July 1st. The application to the district for a project has to be completed by the end of May. One last note is that our speaker for our March 27th meeting is Nicole Stoner. She is a Nebraska Extension Horticulturist and will talk to us on various topics dealing with gardens, trees, lawns etc. If you have a specific question you would like to ask her, let me know what that is and I can send it to her, so she has some time to prepare an answer. See you Wednesday, 5:30pm at Doane!
