"March Madness" is upon us! Not only with NCAA basketball, but also with the weather. Must be spring in Nebraska. We have a very busy meeting coming up this Wednesday. Nicole Stoner, Certified Arborist with the UNL Extension Office in Beatrice will be our speaker. Hopefully she can bring some warmer spring temps with her! We also have a special visit from our District Governor, Kathryn Schubert. She will update the club on important things going on with the district. One item she may cover is the new district rules regarding the district grant process. This year the district will match club grant funding on a 1.50 to 1 ratio. Meaning if the club funds $1500 the district will fund $2,250 resulting in a $3,750 grant total. I ask all members to be thinking of grant project ideas. Let me know your ideas and we will discuss them at the next few meetings. District Governor Kathryn Schubert Our club is currently leading the District's "Raise For Rotary Challenge" to eradicate Polio on the globe. There is a bike ride event scheduled for June 8th in Omaha and Karen Drevo is going to ride in the race. You can continue to support her and Polio eradication by donating to: raise.rotary.org/KAREN-DREVO/challenge4. If their schedules allow, we may be inducting two members officially into the club. So be sure to attend and welcome Laura Hughes and Erin Vyhnalek!
