Last Week- Our very busy month of May continued Wednesday evening as 14 members helped cook and serve the weekly free "Community Meal" at the UCC Church in Crete. We served bbq pulled pork sandwiches with baked beans, chips and dessert to approximately 60 folks. We were anticipating somewhere around 85 diners but the stormy weather may have had an impact. So we had some leftovers, most of which were left at the church to be served to some deserving people later. We also saved some of the leftovers which we will serve at the "picnic" part of our Youth Cabin Clean & Stain project later in May. Special thanks go out to Jack/Mary G and Bob for cooking the pork. And also a great thanks to all who helped serve and cleanup and brought a dessert item! This Week- We will have a regular meeting Tuesday at noon @ TBH. City Council member Dave Bauer will be our program and he will catch us up on a streetscape Improvement project the city is implementing. It should be very interesting so please try to attend. And with mixed emotions I want to inform the club (many of you already know I would guess) that Jill McCartney has accepted a new Athletic Director's position at Kenyon College, which is a highly acclaimed, very beautiful college in Gambier Ohio. Jill and Bob have become good friends and wonderful Rotary members and will be sorely missed. But of course they have our sincere best wishes. Have a great week!
