Last Week- On Wednesday evening 10 members toured the newly renovated Saline County courthouse in Wilbur. Vicky Johnson was our tour guide and did a wonderful job telling us some of the history of the building during the early years when the county seat and location of the courthouse was not a settled issue amongst the county residents. She also talked about which parts of the building were original and were renovated, and which parts were all new construction. There is a great deal of interesting info on the courthouse on the Saline County website. Vicky holds court in five southeast Nebraska counties and offered that the condition and architecture of the Saline County courthouse was, in her opinion, the best of the other four counties. This Week- Weather permitting we are scheduled to do clean up and picnic table staining Wednesday evening at the Youth Cabin. Plan on coming out sometime after 5pm and bring whatever tools you might be able to, such as rakes, shovels, trimmers, pruning shears, etc. We will also try to apply a new coat of stain to the picnic tables. Sometime around 7pm we will finish the project with a picnic meal of pulled pork, baked beans and chips. We'll see you all there and have a great week!
